2012 resume
Weather conditions:
Spring came late and was wet and rainy, delaying vine growth. The wet spring was followed by an exceptionally dry summer, so luckily water was available deep in the soil. Summer also arrived late, but in mid-August temperatures rose, promoting excellent grape ripening. The grapes enjoyed slow ripening in a hot and dry climate in August and September.
Tasting notes:
Medium garnet color. Aromas of red and black fruits, both fresh and dried, with some notes of spices, herbs and cigar box. On the palate the wine has a fresh acidity, smooth tannins and a long, persistent finish. Consume now.
2016 resume
Weather conditions:
A mild and wet winter followed by a gloomy spring, caused a delay in vegetation. However, just as flowering started dry weather appeared and fruit set was successful. An exceptionally dry and hot summer led to some water stress for the vines, but autumn rains at the beginning of September relaunched ripening just in time. Mid-September and October were sunny and almost without rain, giving grapes with perfect maturation. Following a stressful vintage all came together and the team could harvest excellent quality grapes.
Tasting notes:
Intense deep ruby colour. Fresh and fruity nose with beautiful aromas of ripe red and black fruits, baking spices and some mineral notes. On the palate the wine is well-balanced, with a soft attack of beautiful fresh red fruits, high concentration, ripe, smooth tannins and a long finish. In conclusion a very fine vintage with good aging potential.
2018 resume
Weather conditions:
A rainy, rather cool winter, causing late budburst. In April we saw alternating hot and cold days, followed by May and June that were both unseasonably wet, favoring the development of mildew. Some vineyards also experienced local hail storms. Following a wet spring we saw an exceptionally dry summer from mid-July, reducing mildew pressure and ensuring optimal ripening of the grapes.
Tasting notes:
Deep, ruby colour. One the nose the wine is currently a little closed but shows great promise with pretty notes of ripe red fruit, baking spices, violets and herbs. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with fresh acidity and high concentration of fruit – a vintage with great aging potential.
